“The Voyager” finds Marley in the future she wasn’t sure she’d have at the end of “Fault Lines.” She’s found her footing in her radically new life in Seattle: she’s teaching a class on apocalypse theories, spending lots of time with Nick and Jamie, working at the university library, and even cautiously nursing a new friendship with her library coworker Ramona. But when a conference takes Jamie across the country as NASA prepares to launch the Voyager 3 probe to investigate the strange signals its twins are picking up, Marley finds herself struggling to decode various strange signals of her own: Nick’s distress calls, Ramona’s gestures of interest, her confusing feelings for Ramona, and her instinct to reach out even when she’s unsure of how to do so.
